Leicester-born singer Morgan Munroe is quickly becoming a standout voice in the UK R&B scene.
With her soulful, modern sound and heartfelt songwriting, she’s already achieving milestones most artists only dream of — including performing at the legendary Glastonbury Festival.

“Performing at Glasto last year — it only feels like you’re supposed to do that when you’re massive,” Morgan says. “To
get there and perform, not just once but a few times, was incredible at this stage of my career.”
The opportunity came through MOBO Unsung, a platform championing the UK’s best unsigned talent. As part of their
Class of 2025, Morgan took part in a private industry showcase. “The people who came to watch us asked if I wanted to do a show at Glasto — and it kind of just spiralled from there,” she reveals.
The experience was a career highlight. “You can’t get much bigger than Glasto, can you?” she says. “I was definitely nervous, but once I got on stage, it was just fun. I tried to enjoy it as much as possible.”
Morgan’s love for music started early, but it became a serious pursuit around six or seven years ago. “It was always my main passion,” she says. “People would hear me sing and say, ‘You’re great!’ Eventually I thought — maybe this could actually be my career.”
She began her journey in Leicester, where the small where the smaller scene offered a strong sense of community and support. “I was still a baby in the industry,” she recalls. “But I was able to be free, experiment, and figure out what I wanted to do.”
Now based in London, she credits the move for opening more doors. “There are people doing amazing things in Leicester too, but at the time it felt like more opportunities were in London. I went to uni here and just stayed.”
Her sound has evolved into what she calls “souly R&B — very new school with old school influences.” It’s emotional,
empowering, and deeply personal. “I like to write about love, heartbreak, self-reflection — even vulnerability. But I try to keep a positive outlook,” she says.
Despite her love for songwriting, performing is Morgan’s true passion. “I thrive off connecting with people through music. If I get to do that on stage, I’m having the best time.”
“I write songs for therapy, and I know a lot of what I talk about is relatable. ”
In addition to Glasto, Morgan performed two headline shows last year and continues working hard in the studio. Her latest single, “Love Trauma”, released in September, is her favourite track to date. “It sounds negative but it’s actually cute and positive — it’s got ‘lover girl’ vibes,” she says.
Now, with Glastonbury and MOBO Unsung under her belt, Morgan is focused on momentum. “I’m doing this all by myself, and sometimes it’s hard. But these moments make it all worth it. I just want to keep pushing and make sure people know my name.”
