Wedding event planner, Priti Raichura has been shortlisted for a prestigious award in the Britain Asian Wedding Awards. Her company, PR Events is the only one in Leicester to be nominated in the Best Wedding Planner category.
The mother of two left a senior role within the NHS to start her own Event Management company in 2017 which has flourished into a successful business.
Starting the company from her home, she now works with a team of six freelancers to ensure all her projects run as smoothly as possible.
Last year PR Events was a finalist in the Midland Asian Wedding Awards, and she even won an award by FNX India for running an internationally renowned wedding event management company.
Priti said: “I’ve always been a massive supporter of my home city so being able to represent it in these national and international awards is such a pleasure.
Leaving a secure job at the NHS, with a young family to look after and mouths to feed was a risky move but it seems like the best decision now. All those long hours and weekends away from my family are definitely paying off.”
As well as local weddings and events, she’s slowly started stepping out of her comfort zone and is taking on international projects all over Europe. More recently she has also been nominated in the Best New Business category in the Niche Magazine Business Awards, the results of which will be announced later this year. Meanwhile, the Britain Asian Wedding Awards will be held 6 March.
