Get nominating as there are only three days left to enter a youngster of your choice for the prestigious Lord-Lieutenant’s Young Person of the year Awards 2013.
The awards recognise those aged between 13-19 living in Leicestershire, who have carried out exceptional work or have achieved something great. They can be nominated by other young people, their school, parent or guardian or through any other agency,
Awards will be given to the teenagers for the following categories; young braveheart, young volunteer, young voice, young scientist and young artist.
Speaking about the awards, Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, Jennifer, Lady Gretton said: “I feel that much of this achievement goes unnoticed by the wider community, when all too often we hear of examples that portray young people in a negative light. It was in part for this reason that I wanted to do what I could to raise awareness of the positive contributions made by young people.
“Together we can celebrate and honour the fantastic young people of our city and county.”
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an awards evening and will be eligible to receive prizes up to the value of £500.
Deadline for nominations is January 31, 2013.
