Our Wedding Guru Priti Raichura takes time out to enjoy some TLC at Clarins Spa, which is based at Leicester’s John Lewis & Partners.
Read on to find out how she got on and what she took away from the luxury pampering session, which she thoughrily recommends…
Everyone deserves a little indulgence every now and then. Sometimes it’s nice to step back and really take time for yourself; mind, body and soul – give yourself permission to just switch off from the demands of life and work for an hour and just be…
That’s why I was delighted to be invited to Clarins Spa, where I was lucky enough to try one of their super indulgent facials. It’s an invigorating sensory experience which I’d definitely recommend to my clients. Planning a wedding can be fun, but it can also be stressful and draining at times. After the decisions have been made and everything’s in place, I’d recommend that brides (and even grooms) take some time out to relax, and give themselves a little pick me up in time for the big day. After all, you want to be at your best – enjoy the day and be as calm and as present as possible…
After my Clarins facial, I left feeling refreshed and invigorated – ready to face the week ahead with renewed vigour… It’s true what they say, ‘you can’t pour from an empty cup’ and this filled it up perfectly.
After arriving for my appointment, I was greeted by Michaela, my therapist, who invited me to make myself comfortable in one of Clarins tranquil spa rooms. Bathed in blue light, and equipped with a soothing soundtrack, the room felt like an ambient retreat – a place to escape and leave any stress or troubles at the door.
That’s exactly what Michaela encouraged me to do as she set about analysing my skin and deciding what treatment we should go for.
As my skin was dehydrated, she advised upon the ‘Radiance Booster’, which lasted for around an hour and 10 minutes.
I lay back, closed my eyes and decided to use this as an opportunity to relax and think about nothing but the experience – the sensations and the scents of various products being rubbed generously onto my skin.
I found myself in a state of bliss – breathing deeply and indulging in the divine scents which filled my nostrils. Each
of the products rubbed onto my skin, left it feeling more and more nourished and by the end I was left feeling like a million dollars.
My favourite part of the experience was when Michaela massaged my cheek bones and shoulders. She actually felt some tension in my neck and shoulders and tried to massage the knots out, which felt great…
After we were done I was given the opportunity to have my look enhanced with some subtle cosmetics, and also the chance to ask any questions.
According to Michaela, these lush treatments are used by a wide range of people – brides and mum’s-to-be, as well as people who have been gifted the experience for Mother’s Day, anniversaries and other such occasions.
I can’t help but think to myself what a lovely idea it is to give someone a gift like this – the gift of pure sensory indulgence. It’s the perfect way to say you care about somebody – mind, body and soul. You can’t put a price on well-being so this is a great little investment either for yourself, or that special someone…
So what are you waiting for? Get glowing!
